With its fiscal year ending in June, the Georgia Ports Authority completed more than 507,000 intermodal lifts during the year. Over the past three years, this port has grown in rail volume by more than 35 percent. Last month alone the port handled 47,255 rail lifts which is an increase of 4,511 lifts when compared to July of 2018.
As more improvements take hold and improve the Port of Savannah, its rail lift capacity will double to 1 million containers a year.
