FMCSA Administrator is Leaving His Post

Ray Martinez, who has overseen some of the newest reforms in the trucking industry, is leaving the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration at the end of the month. Martinez has been with the FMCSA for the last 18 months, and during that time he has listened to the concerns of truckers nationwide and headed the effort to revamp the federal hours-of-service regulation. He will be leaving to oversee a construction project at the Volpe Center in Massachusetts. FMCSA Deputy Administrator Jim Mullen is expected to serve as interim director until a permanent replacement is nominated and confirmed by the Senate.
