Hispanic Community in the Trucking Industry is Growing

Currently, Hispanics make up around 18% of the U.S. population, making it the second-largest ethnic group in the country. With the trucking industry a scaled-down and mirrored version of America’s diversity, Hispanics make up 12% of the trucker population. Bringing more Hispanics into the trucking workforce is essential in filling those empty seats these days. There are organizations out there helping Hispanics feel at home behind the wheel of a big rig and in the trucking community like the Coalition of American-Latino Truckers.
