Regulations Suspended for Truckers Helping Tennessee Tornado Victims

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has issued a regional declaration for truckers who are directly helping Tennessee tornado victims. A state of emergency has been declared because of the tornados that cut through parts of Tennessee this week and people involved are in need of help as soon as possible. This Regional Emergency Declaration is allowing those truckers to suspend their Hours of Service to get to where they are needed without delay. This declaration does not exempt truckers from drug and alcohol usage, license requirements, and any other safety requirement within this industry. The declaration will be in effect until the emergency is declared over or at midnight on April 2, 2020.
