The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has approved a toll hike of 36% on the turnpike and 27% on the Garden State Parkway. These increases are to pay for $24 billion in infrastructure projects including the widening of lanes for both highways. For big rigs, the tolls will increase from $9 to $11.45 at most of the toll plazas. The ramp plaza tolls for trucks used to cost $3.25 to $9 and will now cost $4.15 to $11.45.
