The Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Association released the results of a survey done with FleetNet America stating that there is a large increase of roadside failures in the winter. The study shows roadside failures rose 22% in the first quarter when compared to the fourth quarter of 2018. It also showed that roadside repair costs was 3% higher in the first quarter of 2019 when also compared the fourth quarter of 2018.
This data comes in handy for fleets when it pertains to maintenance practices for the next winter season and knowing what systems are the most vulnerable to winter conditions.
