Cowan Systems, out of Baltimore, Md., has added close to 285 trucks to its fleet with the purchase of Carlisle Carrier Corp., out of Pennsylvania. This purchase, along with the previous purchase of Dick Harris Trucking out of Virginia in 2017, will bring Cowan’s fleet close to 2,500 trucks and 2,250 employees. Also, Cowan now has new terminals in Mechanicsburg and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The new acquisition is a good fit for Cowan and should compliment the business nicely.
