Joliet Junior College has received a grant from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration totaling almost $170,000. This money will be used towards its Driving America: One Veteran at a Time CDL Training program. The program assists current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their spouses to receive the training necessary to get a commercial driver’s license and join the trucking industry. This grant helps cover tuition, drug testing, a physical exam, and the CDL learner’s permit along with job placement. For them, it’s a way to give back to those who have served.
