Nyasha Makuto, a graduate student at Lakehead University in Ontario, Canada, and Vicki Kristman, a professor at the university, has put together a research study about depression in long-haul truckers. Within literature, risk factors for depression in truckers are not understood very clearly; this study will hopefully clarify and help better understand those factors. The results can help carriers and companies to better understand the lives of long-haul truckers and hopefully improve their working environment and conditions. I am applying for disability from trucking because of the crippling isolation and depression.
