With all of the concern about climate change and the environment there is now a growing market for food waste and animal poop. With the proper equipment, organic matter decomposes releasing methane gas and through anaerobic digestion turns into natural gas. California is encouraging transportation companies to convert their fleets to renewable natural gas in order to cut back on emissions, as are many other companies throughout the U.S. Now, with food waste mandates in states along the east coast, there are anaerobic digesters being built to help fuel this new and much needed natural gas economy.
