Out of the University of Minnesota Morris campus, a research team has found that when a carrier has a mandated treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) they saved on medical insurance costs. They concluded their research by showing the savings of $441 per month per driver who accepted treatment for OSA. There is always talk in the industry about drivers falling asleep behind the wheel and causing accidents, and sleep apnea may be a cause. Carriers can now save money and make sure their drivers stay alert and stay safe.
