The Illinois State Police and the Illinois Trucking Association are working together to crack down on distracted driving. The “Trooper in a Truck” program puts officers in a commercial vehicle’s cab, who then keep an eye out for distracted driving offenses.
With distracted driving being a leading cause of traffic accidents, the Illinois State Police hopes this initiative will aid in keeping the roadways safe.
