The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued a reminder to owners of big rigs and heavy duty vehicles to file their Form 2290 Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax Return by September 3. This form applies to vehicles with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more which applies to large trucks and buses. With the near expectation of 900,000 forms to be turned in, most of them will be filed online while a small handful will be done on paper. The IRS urges truckers to file online due to the speed and convenience of the process.
