There is legislation being considered by a Kansas Senator that would create an advisory board in the FMCSA exclusively focused on increasing the amount of women in the trucking industry. The board within the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration would be a five-member team of women from different areas within the industry. The bill, titled “Promoting Women in the Trucking Workforce Act” helps create opportunities for women along with training, education, and recruitment. There is plenty of room for more women to join the trucking industry and this is a good way to bring further knowledge and opportunities to them.
