The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has released a PDF on the Clearinghouse website showing query prices for carriers to use on their current and future drivers. An individual plan, for one driver, costs $1.25 while a bundled plan for 7,500 drivers costs $9,375. A query is a search into the driver’s background to see if there are any drug or alcohol related violations that would prohibit them from operating a commercial motor vehicle. When the Clearinghouse goes into effect on January 6, employers must conduct a pre-employment investigation on new drivers and screen their current drivers a least once a year.
