Starting in February of 2020, the lowest legal age to obtain a commercial driver’s license will go from 21 to 18. This is another path for people to take when choosing a career, and the industry could desperately use more drivers. This new lower age is a good way for new students to enter the industry, learn how to be responsible, provide for their families and community, and have a lifelong successful career. This new law states that anyone under 21 will currently not be able to drive across state lines, but the trucking associations are working on it.
