Should Hearing Requirement be Dropped for Commercial Drivers?

The National Association of the Deaf has petitioned the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to drop the hearing requirement on interstate drivers of commercial vehicles. The NAD believes that the older rules do not apply today because of misguided stereotypes in the past given to those with hearing problems.
