There are a few states out there who are looking to change the speed limit rules for cars and trucks. A California lawmaker wants all vehicles to travel at the same posted speed, not 65 mph – 70 mph for small vehicles and 55 mph for trucks. A House bill in Colorado is looking for faster speeds on portions of rural state highways. The Senate Transportation Committee in Illinois is trying to raise the speed limits of two of its fastest highways. The House Transportation Committee in Iowa is also trying to increase the speed on a few highways.
