The Arizona Department of Transportation is adding to its truck screening technology to help move commerce along more smoothly. The new technology includes weigh-in-motion sensors and special cameras that can read small numbers and details. Some of the ports will also have an added feature that will be able to identify commercial vehicles with tire issues. Truckers get directed to the appropriate lane, the technology kicks in, numbers and weights are checked, and they can either continue on if they are cleared or are directed to pull over for further inspection.
