The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s Operation Safe Driver Week runs next week, July 12-18, 2020. This year’s campaign is focused on speeding and the consequences of driving too fast. Around the country, law enforcement will be on the lookout for drivers who are being unsafe on our highways and issue warnings or citations. With the lockdown created by COVID-19, there were fewer cars on the road leading to truckers putting the pedal down and going faster than usual. Now, those people are getting back on the roads and truckers need to resume normal speeds and be more cautious. Besides speeding, officers will also be looking for reckless and aggressive driving, impaired driving, and those that fail to obey traffic lights and signs.
