A bill has been endorsed by North Dakota’s legislative panel that will increase the speed limit from 75 mph to 80 mph on two major interstates. The bill will now make its way to the House Appropriations Committee to consider the financial impact of this change. Local officials will still be able to control speeds as the interstate goes through city limits. Neighbors, Montana and South Dakota, currently have 80 mph highways which would pave the way for North Dakota’s flat and straight roads to also have the same limits.
