With their particular hours of service, truck drivers need to take breaks more often which means they are all looking for available spots at truck stops. One of the biggest problems they face with their limited hours is coming across a truck stop that is full and they have to keep going. They could potentially end up in a place that is not built for trucks or could potentially be dangerous.
In a study that started last November with an expected end in September, the numbers are showing that Mankato, Minn., is in need of more truck stops. Highway 169 is a popular corridor to I-90 and goes right through Mankato, making the town a popular place for truckers to find rest.
