Jim Higginbotham with Stone Trucking Company out of Oklahoma, has been named a “Highway Angel” by the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA). While hauling an oversized load on a rainy day just north of Tulsa, Higginbotham came upon an accident involving two vehicles. While going slow due to the conditions of the road, Higginbotham pulled his rig over and started waving his arms to divert traffic away from a man’s body lying on the pavement. Not too long after he arrived, a volunteer firefighter pulled over to further assist at the scene allowing Higginbotham to help the other driver who was dazed and still in their car.
The TCAs Highway Angel program recognizes truck drivers who show courage and kindness on North America’s roadways. Higginbotham received a certificate, pin, patch, and truck decals.
