The Twin Ports Interchange reconstruction project will soon put the truckers of Duluth, Minn., back on the interstate. Currently, oversized loads have to make their way up hills and through city and residential streets to make their way to U.S. Highway 53. The $342 million project will include new bridges, ramps, and interchanges converging I-35 with I-535 and U.S. Highway 53 through Lincoln Park. This project recognizes Duluth’s industrial and trucking scenes as important features of their economy. These improvements will lead to less stress on those who need to make it through Duluth’s winding roads with overly large large trucks that don’t turn very well.
