With Idaho being the best place to grow potatoes in the nation, they are geographically at the worst place when it comes to getting those potatoes to consumers. Every year, transporting potatoes has been the biggest challenge faced by the Idaho Grower Shippers Association (IGSA). Every year, for the past 70 years, the IGSA has held a meeting in Sun Valley with railroad and trucking companies to find the best ways to move the crops.
The growing shortage of truckers in the industry is affecting how potatoes are getting across the country and this will be one of the items discussed at the Sun Valley meeting.
