There is a lot of talk out there about automated trucks taking over the industry, but there are many factors you don’t hear about that prove truckers are vital to the system. First, truckers do more then just drive the truck. They secure cargo, load the trucks, and provide personal customer service. Second, full automation is something that is far into the future. With current testing of non-fully automated trucks, there are obstacles on the road that are not easily remedied without a trucker present.
This is a large and important occupation for our infrastructure with many layers and challenges that are yet to be solved by automation.
