2019 looked bleak for the trucking industry, but according to the For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index put out by the American Trucking Associations, things weren’t so bad. The Index states that there was an increase of 3.3% in all of 2019, about half of what 2018 had, but still an increase. Even better, this was the 10th annual increase of truck tonnage. So, even though the industry sounded like it struggled all of last year, in the end, it wasn’t a total loss and some things still improved.
