On Northbound Interstate 35, the Albert Lea rest area is temporarily closed for repairs. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the rest area is closed because of a water pump failure. This rest area is at mile marker 1 near the Iowa border, the next usable rest area is at mile marker 35 just outside of Owatonna.
