During the virtual Truckload Carriers Association’s Safety and Security Meeting, two fleets gave some insights on how they create a safety culture and it’s some good advice. Making sure your drivers are fully equipped with important information and reference materials about safety is a good place to start. A good checklist always comes in handy. Training should be customized and not the same for every company or driver, there is no way everything is going to be exactly the same. Also, be respectful when you talk with drivers and get their side of the story, nobody is perfect. Teach to improve and educate, not discipline. Another good piece of advice is to take advantage of the available technologies out there and invest in some that fit your fleet. Click the link below to learn more about this.
