The Georgia Ports Authority has reached a record high with 37.77 million tons crossing its docks. When compared to FY2019, this current number is up 0.6%, or 223,000 tons. Current COVID-19 related challenges don’t seem to be slowing down port activity and ongoing expansions are keeping the movement pace steadily rolling along. The Port of Savannah was down less than 1% when compared to last year and the Appalachian Regional Port handled over 3.5 times the cargo it did last year.
