During this current pandemic, truck drivers have been labeled “essential” as they haul the foods, goods, and medicines the rest of us need to get by. One truck driver from Rochester, Minnesota has given us some perspective on how truck drivers are currently being treated and the obstacles they are still facing out there on the road.
It’s hard to know what all the guidelines are in each state and complying with them might be tricky. There are still closed rest stops out there and finding a place to take a shower is almost impossible. A lot of restaurants are still closed and finding a decent meal, besides fast food or gas station food, isn’t always easy. Other drivers on the roads have stuck truckers into this stereotype where they are a nuisance and a dangerous driver, which is just not true. Truckers are some of the country’s safest drivers and without them, the shelves at the stores would be empty and medical supplies would be lacking.
As the country kicks back into gear, truck drivers are in high demand and are needed to restock all of those shelves that have been sitting empty for so long. Click the link below to learn more about what this truck driver has to say.
