For the month of September, there was an increase in truck tonnage, says the ATA. According to the American Trucking Associations’ For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index, there was an increase of 6.7% after a 5.3 fall in August. The trucking industry is going through some hills and valleys right now with retail and home building on the rise but still a slump in the industrial areas.
