The American Trucking Association’s For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index increased by 1.4% in January. This was following a rise of 1.2% in December, and increases, even the slight ones, are a good sign for the times. When compared to January 2020, when it was down 2.1% and the December before by 2.6%, these numbers are headed in the right direction. These numbers are based on surveys from American Trucking Association’s members and are subject to change when the final report is issued around the middle of each month.
