ZF Group, a leader in automotive safety systems, has added automated steering technology to further help drivers stay safe while on the road. Just like the lane-keeping technologies on many newer passenger vehicles, this new technology warns truck drivers when they are veering out of their lanes. By using cameras to see lane markings and gentle vibrations of the steering wheel, this technology helps remind the drivers to stay within their lines. Another feature includes mounted radar sensors that assist with trucker’s blind spots. The warning kicks in when the driver turns on their signal and starts moving into the occupied lane.
These new technologies are there to further assist with the safety of drivers and the people around them.
