With the permission of Illinois’ Tollways, a truck with autonomous technology will be cruising the Jane Addams Tollway very soon. There will be a driver behind the wheel at all times, it is not a fully autonomous vehicle. Autobon AI is a company that is not looking to replace drivers but make the job of truck driving safer and easier and by doing so they are hoping to make this job more appealing and bring in more drivers to the industry. The equipment they have developed is installed in trucks, they are not building trucks. It is still in the testing phases and a price for the technology is currently unknown.
