Mack Trucks has demonstrated its Mack LR Electric garbage truck to New York City officials. It is a fully electric version of the Mack LR refuse model. It will be used by the New York City Department of Sanitation sometime in the second quarter of 2020. With New York City’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent by 2035, this new electric garbage truck is a good step to accomplishing that goal.
