Mack Trucks invited people in the media to test drive the new LR Electric Refuse Truck that is being tested in New York. With talks of making trucks give off fewer emissions, electricity is one way to go. According to the test driver, the inside is a bit noisier but the engine was much quieter. This will be much appreciated during quiet early morning trash pickups. Besides giving off less pollution (noise and emissions) the trucks regenerative braking system made the truck easier to stop.
