Daimler Trucks North America and Portland General Electric are teaming up to create an “Electric Island” in Portland, Oregon. The large charging station will be the first of its kind in the U.S. and will charge medium- and heavy-duty trucks. The “Island” is currently under construction near DTNA’s headquarters in Portland and is being built to support up to nine charging stations with charging levels higher than one megawatt.
